Benefits Enrollment Checklist
Enroll your eligible dependents during your enrollment period or if you have a qualifying life event to ensure your family is covered. Once you add dependents to our benefits plans, you will receive a dependent verification packet via email and mail.
You can enroll in benefits:
- As a new hire or newly eligible for benefits within 30 days of your hire date or benefits eligible date.
- Mid-year if you experience a qualifying life event. Qualifying life event changes must be made within 30 days of the event.
- During benefits annual enrollment for this plan year.
If you miss these enrollment periods, you will have to wait until the next benefits annual enrollment period to make any coverage changes.

Before You Enroll
- Log in or register (if you’re a new user) at mydoverbenefits.com, which can also be accessed from myDover.
- Explore your options in this benefits guide and on the Dover Benefits Center website. Review costs, summary plan descriptions (SPDs) and legal notices.
- Use ALEX, an interactive decision support tool, to help determine the best benefits for you.
During Enrollment
- Enroll online at mydoverbenefits.com or call the Dover Benefits Center at 1-877-DoverHR (1-877-368-3747) M – F: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. U.S. Central Time (8 p.m. during enrollment).
- If newly enrolling in supplemental life insurance, answer the online tobacco status question.
- Make sure your personal information is correct, including your email address.
- To complete enrollment, validate your elections > click submit.

After You Enroll
- You will receive your benefits election confirmation statement in the mail after your enrollment period closes. If you find an error or discrepancy, please contact the Dover Benefits Center immediately.
- You will be mailed ID cards if enrolling in our medical, dental or vision benefits for the first time or if changing your medical, dental or vision benefit options. ID cards can also be downloaded on the benefits vendor’s website or app.
What Happens If You Don’t Enroll During Your Benefits Enrollment Period
If you are a current team member, your benefits elections will carry forward; however, you will need to take action to:
- Add or modify your benefits options
- Add or remove dependents
- Add or modify health savings and flexible spending account contributions
- Validate or modify your beneficiaries
If you are a new hire or newly eligible for benefits, you will receive the following company-paid benefits:
- Basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance
- Short-term (STD) and long-term (LTD) disability
- Business travel accident (BTA) insurance
- Employee assistance program (EAP)
You may not change your benefits outside of benefits annual enrollment unless you have a qualifying life event.
