Medical
We offer three comprehensive medical plan options through BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois (BCBSIL), which include a broad network of physicians, hospitals and health care services. Your medical plan options are the CDHP 2500, CDHP 1700 and the PPO 750 Plan.
Key features of all three plans include:
- Comprehensive coverage for the same services, including prescription coverage and mental health care.
- Preventive care covered at 100% in-network, including annual checkups, vaccinations and wellness visits.
- Opportunity to contribute to tax-advantaged health account(s).
- Cancer care and support service to help you and your loved ones navigate every step of a cancer journey.

Comparing the Plans
All three medical plans are designed to bring value and protection to you and your family when you need it most. They offer access to the same network of providers and coverage for the same types of services. The key difference is what you pay for care and when, and how you can save for health care expenses now and in the future.
Key considerations when selecting a plan:
- When you prefer to pay for care. If you pay more from your paycheck for your coverage, you will pay less at the time of care with a lower deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. If you’d prefer to keep your paycheck contributions lower, you will pay more when you need care, with a higher deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. See how the plans compare against some of the key features that affect how and when you pay for care.
- Access to a health savings account (HSA). Coverage is paired with an HSA when you enroll in the CDHP 2500 Plan or CDHP 1700 Plan. With an HSA, you can pay for out-of-pocket costs and/or save for the future – all tax free. We will also contribute to help you save. If you enroll in the PPO 750 Plan, you will not have access to an HSA, but you can save pre-tax dollars for health care expenses with the health care flexible spending account (HCFSA).
- Access to a flexible spending account (FSA). If you contribute to either a health care FSA, limited purpose FSA or dependent care FSA, you can set aside money on a pre-tax basis, then use it to help pay for eligible health care and dependent care expenses within the plan year.
- Anticipated health care needs. Consider how you and family members used your medical coverage during 2025. Based on your personal situation and anticipated 2026 health care needs, decide which of the medical plans might work for you. Review examples.

Importance of Primary Care
When you establish a relationship with a primary care doctor, they’ll work with you to make sure you get the right preventive care, manage any chronic conditions and help you improve your overall health and well-being. Remember, getting regular medical checkups is the best way to identify potential health issues and help avoid significant health challenges down the road.
Teladoc Health makes it easy for you to access a primary care doctor no matter where you are or when you need care – and services are generally less expensive than at a doctor’s office. Whether you wake up sick in the middle of the night, get a cold on vacation or just want to schedule an appointment without worrying about a commute or waiting times, use Teladoc.

Getting In-Network Care Matters
In-network providers have negotiated service rates with BCBSIL. Because of this, the out-of-network deductible and coinsurance are higher than the in-network deductible, meaning you pay more. Before receiving treatment, check with BCBSIL to ensure a doctor, lab, hospital, specialist or other provider is in-network.
Know Your Care Options
When you have a relationship with a primary care doctor, you benefit from more personal care. Your primary care doctor will usually be your go-to when you need routine care, but not always. Determine the best care options if you participate in one of our medical plans.
