Optional Insurance and Disability
Although our medical plans provide you with comprehensive benefits and financial protection, consider these optional insurance coverages to help manage the uncertainty of medical plan deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses. The money you receive can be used however you need it (rent, groceries, transportation costs, day care, etc.) – it does not need to be used for medical expenses.
You can purchase coverage for yourself and your eligible spouse/partner and children. Deductions are paid on an after-tax basis.

Disability
Short-Term Disability (STD)
We offer company-paid STD, which provides you with a benefit for up to 26 weeks when you are unable to work due to an approved medical leave of absence lasting more than seven days. You receive the following benefits:
- First seven days (the elimination period): This is considered an unpaid elimination leave. You may use any unused paid time off or take the time off without pay.
- Day 8 – 26 weeks: You will receive a percentage of your pay.
Long-Term Disability (LTD)
We offer company-paid LTD coverage through Voya, which provides you with benefits if you are unable to work due to a prolonged disability. You are automatically enrolled for this coverage.
- LTD benefits give you 60% of your annual base salary, up to $24,000 per month, once you’ve been disabled for 180 days (also known as the elimination period).*
- The minimum monthly benefit is the greater of:
- $100, or
- 10% of the benefit (based on monthly income loss before the deduction of other income benefits).
* Annual base salary excludes overtime and bonuses. For commission-based positions, your annual base salary is your annual salary plus your last 12 months of commissions.
