Prescription Drug
When you enroll in medical, you will have access to prescription drug coverage administered by CVS Caremark.
What to know:
- Maintenance choice keeps 90-day prescriptions as affordable as possible and provides free delivery for prescriptions filled through mail order.
- Specialty medications must be ordered through the CVS Specialty division which assigns you a specialty care team and provides free delivery.
- The CVS Caremark mobile app enables you to request refills, check the status of your prescription, view current prescriptions and access your ID card.
- In the CDHP 2500 Plan and CDHP 1700 Plan, medical and prescription drug expenses combine to meet the annual deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. You are responsible for the full cost until your deductible is met.
- For some prescription drugs, a step therapy program or prior authorization will be required before the prescription benefits will be paid.
- Depending on your plan, you may need to either meet the family deductible or family out-of-pocket maximum.
- Learn how you pay for care within the plans.
Contact CVS Caremark by going to caremark.com/dover or by calling 1-866-273-8407.
Certain preventive medications on the CVS standard preventive list are not subject to the deductible. Go to caremark.com/dover to find a list of covered medications.
Ways to save
- Save money by using generic prescriptions.
- If a generic isn’t available, ask your doctor to prescribe a preferred brand-name medication to help you manage your costs.
- Save on maintenance medications with a 90-day supply via CVS Caremark in-network retail pharmacy or mail order.
Note: If you use a drug manufacturer’s payment assistance, such as a coupon or rebate, amounts paid by the manufacturer do not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum under these plans.
